Who in their right mind doesn’t love a wedding?
The ultimate celebration of love, weddings typically serve as the beginning of a rich and rewarding relationship that could span the remainder of a person’s life. Signifying the end of two separate lives and the start of a union joined forever by love, happiness, and mutual understanding, marriage is the culminating point in any serious relationship, one almost every couple hopes to reach by some point. Just as is so often the case in real life, TV weddings can make for a similarly joyous occasion in our favorite series, including such fabled classics as Modern Family, Friends, and The Office.

While some shows might be content to deliver one wedding ceremony per episode, Modern Family manages to slip five into the course of a two-part episode. Navigating numerous setbacks affecting their wedding plans, “The Wedding” showcases the sheer anarchy threatening to upend Cam and Mitchell’s special day together. Just when all hope seems lost for the would-be happy couple, though, Jay steps in to make a meaningful gesture to his son and his soon-to-be son-in-law. A fitting milestone in Cam and Mitchell’s expansive relationship together, it’s all but impossible not to shed a tear when you hear Claire’s wedding speech or watch as Jay holds out his arm to walk Mitchell down the aisle. (“Actually, I thought you and I would take a little walk …” Instant tears every time.)

At the start of Schitt’s Creek, it was almost inconceivable to imagine someone like David choosing to one day settle down. A perennial bachelor with a deep-seated love for independence, David seemed more heavily preoccupied with retaining his carefree bachelor lifestyle – a characteristic he maintained throughout the first few seasons of Schitt’s Creek. After meeting and sparking a relationship with Patrick, though, it was clear that David’s once cynical take on stable relationships was slowly melting away. Watching David gradually but wholeheartedly fall head over heels for Patrick, their eventual wedding near the end of Schitt’s Creek is guaranteed to leave viewers with a wide smile on their face, and more than a few tears in the corner of their eyes.

As one of the most beloved TV couples of all time, it’s only natural Monica and Chandler’s long-anticipated wedding found a spot on this list. A significant turning point for the couple’s relationship, their ceremony was every bit as humorous as it was genuinely emotional, perfectly living up to fans’ insurmountably high standards going into Friends’ seventh season. From their heartfelt vows to the subtle reveal about Rachel’s pregnancy, everything about this episode was pitch perfect. And the fact that Joey bumbles through the wedding officiation in a World War One soldiers’ uniform was just icing on the cake.

The fact that viewers spent literal years wondering whether Jim and Pam would ever end up together makes their eventual marriage in “Niagara” that much more impactful and cathartic to watch. Growing from close office friends to a workplace fling to full-fledged newlyweds, everything about their two marriage ceremonies in “Niagara” hits in all the right places. Alternating between a compilation of Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch dancing down the aisle to the beat of “Forever” and Jim and Pam secretly getting married beneath the famous Falls, “Niagara” is quite possibly the best moment in The Office there is – a comment that, in a show loaded with great moments, is certainly not meant to be taken lightly.
