Pantheon’s 100% Rotten Tomatoes score says it all: it’s perfect.

In the fast-growing world of adult sci-fi animation, fans have learned to live with disappointment—whether it’s uneven anthologies like Love, Death & Robots and Secret Level or brilliant shows like Scavengers Reign getting axed too soon. It’s rare to find a series that sticks the landing all the way through.

Enter Pantheon. Based on short stories by sci-fi legend Ken Liu (of Three-Body Problem translation fame), this unassuming gem follows Maddie Kim, an angsty teen who suspects her late father’s death isn’t what it seems; as well as Caspian, a troubled teen tech prodigy; and Vinod, a grieving widower caught in a corporate nightmare. Saying any more would spoil the ride but trust me, this show will scramble your brain in the best way.

Pantheon fires on all cylinders: complex characters, razor-sharp plot twists, and a brutal, brilliant critique of Big Tech. Its gorgeous animation and impeccable world-building make it a feast for longtime sci-fi fans, while its tight, character-driven story keeps it grounded and accessible for newcomers.

When I first heard about Pantheon, I practically had to sell my soul on the dark web just to watch it, and I regret nothing. Luckily, it’s now streaming on Netflix. Welcome to your new obsession. You’re welcome.
